Koh Environment and Sustainable Development Aid (Barh Koh
ESDA) is a rapidly growing international Non-Profit, Charitable
and Apolitical Organization based in Toronto, Canada. The
organization was founded in June 2001 by a group of volunteers
who were concerned about environmental degradation, poor
education systems, and the lack of sustainable development
efforts, all leading to rampant poverty in many parts of
the developing African nations
The
name Barh Koh was taken from an African/Chadian dialect
and it symbolizes a "source of life." It is also
the name of a small stream in the Moyen-Chari Prefecture
in southern Chad, one of the most neglected and poorest
regions in the world. The name Barh Koh was appropriately
chosen to reflect the organization's objects to:
