The Ontario Eco-Diversity Program
The Ontario Eco-Diversity Program will be implemented by
Barh Koh Environment and Sustainable Development, in an
effort to increase awareness of new
Immigrant
and Visible Minority populations on environmental and natural
resources issues.
The project's long-term goal is to stimulate interest in
the science of ecology and to make meaningful and substantive
contribution in promoting environmental protection and natural
resources conservation, for a more beautiful and diverse
Ontario natural ecosystems as well as the urban environment.
The second goal of this program is to help strengthen the capacity of Toronto and surrounding areas' academic institutions to interest students from traditionally underrepresented groups in ecology, guide them in pursuing graduate school and careers in ecology, and provide them with the training and skills they need to succeed.
