Barh Koh
ESDA conducts extensive literature reviews on agricultural
and environmental studies in Africa to support its outreach
program. As of 2010, we have initiated the process of acquiring
land for our field research station in the department of Grande
Sido in Chad to carryout field studies and trials. We have
also started building a multi-disciplinary research team of
outstanding scientists and are seeking collaboration with
professionals and other NGOs around the world, as well as
with local African governments
We are
dedicated to understanding, advancing and sharing knowledge
about the functioning and productivity dynamics of the diverse
and fragile ecosystems in Chad and other Sahelian countries,
and addressing issues that are impacting agriculture, animal
husbandry and the environment right now. Barh Koh ESDA focuses
therefore on agro-silvo-pastoral research and trials related
desertification, deforestation, land management, soil fertility,
soil erosion, farming and livestock productions, food processing
and conservation
Barh Koh
ESDA’s important research work is currently supported
by individual and corporate donations, but we hope to strengthen
our capacity through working relationships and partnerships
with universities, research centers, funding agencies and
other NGOs around the world and of course, with African governments
and local organizations
We are
committed to practical and sensible research; finding the
answers NOW to reduce the burden of food poverty and environmental
degradation, and giving people in rural Africa better, more
timely, and cost-effective solutions for improving their living
conditions and coping with climate changes
